nothing phone (2)
Personal Project
personal Project
A personal spec project recreating the Nothing Phone (2) in Cinema 4D, exploring the device's distinctive transparent aesthetic through material work, dynamic lighting, and animation. The project pushed into photorealism through high-resolution texture reworking, custom roughness and bump maps, and a take-based render pipeline that allowed rapid switching between colour schemes and camera setups.
Breakdown
The Nothing Phone (2) model was sourced online as a basic model divided into its separate components. In order to achieve a photorealistic result, changes were made to most of the materials, primarily through updated roughness and bump maps using higher resolution textures.
With both colour schemes set up, a dynamic lighting environment was established as the base for all stills and animations. A take system was implemented to quickly render different setups across each colour scheme without duplicating the scene.
A growth animation using plant assets was developed to create a more visually striking result, with the contrast of deep red working across both colour schemes.
